Argentina Wine Awards 2011

Argentine wine, more then just wine

Today Argentina is the 5th largest producer of wine in the world. Argentine wine has over the centuries become popular due to some of the following reasons;

Argentine wine is very popular because it is produced from grapes that have been grown naturally without the need of pesticides and other disease control chemicals. The wide variety of grapes available in Argentina also contributes to the success of Argentine wine making the country one of the world’s leading wine producers.

Argentine wine a special kind of wine

The vine producing regions of Argentina have a high altitude and low humidity. These conditions are perfect for vines as there will be fewer problems of insects, fungi and many plant diseases. With such an advantage, Argentine wines are produced from vines that are free of pesticides. Such wines are known as organic wines because they are produced naturally using natures resources and they produce wines of the most natural quality.

For restaurants all over the world it is really important to find high quality wines for reasonable prices. Exclusive restaurants such mentioned in Guide de Michelin, or restaurants connected with expensive hotels and establishments like casinos all over the world almost always have a section with Argentine wines. It is a great value for casino owners to be able to offer food and drinks of the highest possible standard to attract the right audience.

Argentine vines add beauty to the country

Argentine vines are very popular as tourist destinations as they offer some of the countries most envied scenery. This has led to the rise of many tourist friendly wineries and vines where visitors are offered free tours and wine tasting. These wineries have contributed greatly to Argentina’s economy through tourism as well as exports.

No one really knows how much value Argentine wine production actually brings the country.

And thanks to the export thoose who want's to enjoy a really good Argetine wine just needs to visit a local restaurant or a land based casino close by, since most casinos, hotels and restaurants use to have Argentine wine on the menus.

Argentine wine is fast becoming popular because the country has favorable conditions for many grape varieties including recently imported varieties. Initially grape varieties in Argentina were from Spain but lately the French have introduced the Malbec grape variety. The Malbec produces most of Argentina’s greatest wines. Then there are also varieties such as the Bonarda which was introduced by the Italians as well as the Charbono from California. Argentina also has its own local varieties which include the Torrontes which makes some wonderful aromatic wines. With all this it is easy to realize why Argentina is amongst the leading producers of wine in the world for they don’t only have good climatic conditions for vines but they also have excellent grape varieties to complement for the quality of their wines.
